    The nursery is open 38 weeks a year and closely follows the term time of local Primary schools – we are closed all bank holidays for the Christmas, Easter and Summer holidays.

  • Do you have a settling in period?
    We recommend 2 settling in sessions – one where you stay with your child, chat and get to know the staff in your child’s room, the other where you leave them for about an hour. We will also ask you to complete a Baby Routine Sheet so that we understand your child’s daily routine, their likes and dislikes, sleep patterns through the day etc
  • Can I leave my buggy?
    Buggies may be left at the setting. Please speak to the manager for details
  • Does my child need to be toilet trained before joining the nursery?

  • Does the nursery have a full set of policies and procedures?
    Yes, we have policies and procedures covering all aspects of child welfare, staffing etc. They are available to view. We review our policies once a year, or more often should there be a need e.g. a change in regulations/legislation. Copies of all school policies and procedures (as listed in Appendix A) regarding Admissions, Behaviour, Child Protection, Complaints, Equal Opportunities, Fire, Health & Safety, Hygiene, Key Person, Lost Children, Medication and Sick Children, No Smoking, Outings, Risk Assessment and Special Needs, together with OFSTED Reports, Action Plans, and other required documents may be inspected at the School Office
  • Will my child be be able to sleep in the day ?

    2 year to 3 years : 1 staff to every 4 children 3 year to 5 year : 1 staff to every 8 children
  • Are your staff qualified?
    All Linnet staff staff hold an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) Our Montessori teachers have Montessori Diplomas All staff have Enhanced DBS checks – until this is received they are never left unsupervised in the rooms.
  • Are staff allowed mobile phones in the rooms?
    No, all staff have to hand their phones in to the office when they arrive at work as part of our Safeguarding policy. Parents, carers and visitors are also requested not to use mobile phones whilst at the setting.
  • Can my child take a comforter to nursery?
    Lots of children have a favourite comforter like a dummy, blanket or teddy. If parents wish, the child can have these in the room at all times. Or they can be brought to the nursery and left in the child’s bag for when they need them (At sleep time).
  • What happens when my child’s nappy needs changing?
    We provide nappies, wipes and nappy cream. Nappies are changed at 10am, 2pm and 4pm and are frequently checked throughout the day. Nappies are changed on a 1 to 1 basis. This gives the added benefit of adult/ child interaction and encouraging language development.
  • What happens if my child needs medicine during the day?
